Waukegan, IL – Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has endorsed Eric Rinehart for Lake County State’s Attorney.

“I’m proud to endorse Eric Rinehart for Lake County State’s Attorney!  Eric is someone we can count on to fight for the victims of crimes and ensure that our justice system is fair to everyone. We need to elect progressive prosecutors that understand how racism, xenophobia, and socioeconomic status play a role in our criminal justice system. When we focus on creating reform to tackle these issues, we keep our communities safe and create a better path forward,” said Cook County State’s Attorney, Kim Foxx.

Foxx continued saying, “I trust Eric because he has a comprehensive plan to address the broader social justice issues that are the root causes of crime. As a society, these are the reforms we need to be talking about. A vote for Eric Rinehart is a vote to restore the trust between the people of Lake County and the criminal justice system.”

“Kim Foxx has shown that we can decrease violent crime through smart and moral prosecutions. Like her, I will advocate for victims of all backgrounds, increase police accountability, and promote transparency with daily crime statistics. Thank you, Kim, for demonstrating that you can be tough on crime while also focusing on long-term solutions to the social problems threatening our communities,” said Eric Rinehart.

Earlier this week, Eric Rinehart was endorsed by former Illinois State Senator Daniel Biss and State Representative and co-chair of the Illinois House’s Progressive Caucus, Will Guzzardi, joining numerous endorsements from Lake County and around the state.
