(Waukegan, IL) – Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart released the following statement following the mass shooting in Winder, Georgia.
“Nothing is more important than a child’s safety. As a father and an elected leader, I am heartbroken, outraged, and sickened by a mass shooting in one of our nation’s schools. Again. This is a time for mourning, support, and courageous action. We must pass a national assault weapon ban tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans want more gun safety legislation and are disgusted with inaction and silence from politicians who care more about extreme agendas than safe communities.”
