Few things are more important than accurately and swiftly bringing violent offenders, sex offenders, and child abusers to justice in the courtroom. For this reason, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office should be a beacon for modern technology when it comes to investigating and solving crimes involving computers and cell phones. But currently, the office is plagued with backlogs and understaffing in its cyber-crime lab. When I’m elected, our team will:

• Increase funding for computer equipment in the cyber-crime lab to end the backlog;
• Increase personnel and training in the cyber lab to solve more cyber-crimes;
• Stop returning money to the Lake County Board when our residents need MORE modern technology to fight crime! 

With sexual assaults and murders on the increase, the stakes could not be higher. Unlike my opponent, I will never return money from my budget to score political points when people need protection.
